Disheartened

We will never get back
to the innocence we once prided ourselves in
Love to lust, friendship to enmity
We have become distraught
from all the misery we have experienced
How we miss our childhood
cause that’s where love brood
The sunny evenings
playing soccer by the roadside
To the rainy afternoons
where we went home wet
and a stroke of the cane we would have met
We limited hatred to the devil
and anger to the teacher who would refuse us some game time
We have neglected our own lives
and lived of another’s
We don’t do it cause we should
we do it cause we have to
Where has the curiosity gone?
why don’t we want to know more?
Knowledge has become a liability
cause the more you know
the less enjoyable your life will be
its just the game of life
give less and take more.
Don’t forget the last time you loved
because you will miss
how tender your heart could be.
